When most people think of a hobby, they imagine something calm and relaxing – like reading a book or watching a movie.
But for adrenaline junkies and thrill-seekers, go-karting is the ultimate pastime. It’s fast-paced, competitive, and packed with excitement.
In Jacksonville, karting is among the most popular sports. Due to the city’s sunny climate, it offers ideal conditions for both indoor and outdoor karting activities.
If you don’t have any other plans on weekends and you want to do something fun, I advise you to try it out – but not before reading this list of the best karting spots in Jacksonville!

If you’re looking for high-speed fun that is safe and indoors – K1 Speed is the place to be. This premier indoor go-karting destination delivers a racing experience like no other.
K1 Speed uses 100% electric, zero-emission go karts, making them fast, eco-friendly, and quiet. These high-performance machines can hit speeds up to 45 mph and offer instant torque.
What I like about K1 Speed is that this place is fully indoors. It means you can race year-round, no matter the Florida weather.
Additionally, K1 Speed welcomes racers of all experience levels. With a professionally designed track and real-time lap tracking, even beginners can feel like pros as they chase personal records or compete with friends.

Address: 1944 Beach Blvd, Jacksonville Beach
Phone: (904) 246-4386
Business hours:
- Monday to Thursday – 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM
- Friday – 1:00 PM to 10:00 PM
- Saturday – 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM
- Sunday – 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM
Another must-visit is the Adventure Speedway Go-Karts. I went there recently, and let me tell you – this place seriously delivers unforgettable karting experiences.
Once you step onto the track, the staff will make sure you comply with the height and safety requirements. You need to be at least 56 inches tall to drive a single go-kart, while the little ones have to ride as passengers in the double-seaters.
The driver of a double go-kart needs a valid driver’s license, which made me suitable for the position. And for the passengers – you must be at least 36 inches tall and three years old.
Let’s go to their karts. Take note – these aren’t your average arcade karts.
They’re gas-powered go karts with some serious zip, making it perfect for the course full of sharp turns.
The track itself was designed to test your reflexes. You need to prepare yourself for the tight curves, tricky angles, and the right amount of straightways to open up the throttle.
What I also loved was that everyone had a chance to participate, regardless of age or experience. So, if you are looking for a place to try new adventures – I highly suggest this one.
Pro tip: Ensure that you and your friends or families are wearing closed-toe shoes for your safety. Please note also that head scarves and unsecured long hair are not permitted on go-karts. |
3. North Florida Kart Club

Website: https://www.northflkarting.com/
Address: 10271 103rd St, Jacksonville
Phone: 904-630-2479
Business hours:
- Monday to Sunday – 7:30 AM to 9:00 PM
There’s something special about strapping into a go-kart at North Florida Karting Club. This track is fun, as well as legendary, especially for those who are new to karting.
For starters, there’s that 1,000-foot straightway that feels endless when you’re tucked low in a kart. If you don’t latch onto the kart in front of you, you’ll fall behind fast.
And just when you think you’re reaching terminal velocity, you’ll hit the banked Monza corner – a sharp, 90-degree left turn. In this instance, you need to have the correct precision and guts.
Unlike other tracks, this course makes gearing your biggest gamble. You’ve only got one gear, which means there isn’t any shifting.
This will allow you to run the engine in its most optimal range for horsepower and torque. But don’t worry, their staff will often remind and teach you how to gear the kart.
Additionally, the North Florida Kart Club is now using wet weather tires.
When wet conditions are declared, all competitors must mount rain tires. Only production-type rain tires that are manufactured specifically for wet weather conditions will be permitted.
Pro tip: I advise you to apply for their membership benefits. This will give you a $10 discount on entry fees for club events. |

If you’re looking for a family-friendly go-karting spot in Jacksonville, Urban Air Adventure should be at the top of your list. This indoor venue provides you with fun, safe, and exciting experiences for kids and families.
The karting track at this venue is designed to be fun without being intimidating. In fact, the bursts of color along the track make the experience even more visually exciting.
You’ll find both single and double electric karts here.
What I loved about this adventure park is that parents can ride along with their kids. This gives them the thrill of racing while keeping everything under control.
Additionally, the karts themselves are electric, which means they’re quieter and smoother to operate. They can hit speeds up to 40 mph, fast enough to get hearts pumping but still within the safety range for young drivers.
Also, Urban Air goes way beyond karting. You can also see different attractions like a rope course, battle beams, virtual reality, and even a tube playground.
Pro tip: When booking online at Urban Air Adventure, make sure to reserve your slot at least a few days in advance. And if you’re planning a group event, check for online-exclusive discounts that might not be available on-site. |

The Tiki Adventure Zone (TAZ), formerly known as Go Kart City, has been in operation for over 50 years. It’s one of the largest outdoor go-kart tracks in Florida.
For those looking for a thrill, it’s best to try the Double Experience, which allows two riders to enjoy the ride together. As you gain confidence, the Fast Experience introduces speeds over 30 mph.
Oh, and if you still want a more thrilling experience, I suggest you go for their High-Speed Experience, where karts reach over 40 mph.
Each karting session utilizes a professional-grade lap timing system, adding a competitive edge to your adventure. This lap timing system allows you to track your speed, as well as your overall performance.
Additionally, you can also try their full-motion race simulators for an immersive racing experience.
Pro tip: You can book a private session with a professional race car driver from TAZ. Such a session is designed for anyone who wants to improve lap times, understand go kart control, or is looking to get into racing. |
6. Callahan Speedway

Phone: 904-254-7085
Business hours:
- Thursday – 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM
- Saturday – 9:00 AM – 11:45 PM
Callahan Speedway is a 1/7-mile, banked dirt oval track – a popular option that offers a thrilling and fun environment for racers.
One of its standout features is its commitment to nurturing young talent. In fact, children as young as five can participate in the Red Plate class, designed specifically for beginners.
These young racers, with the guidance of their parents, learn the fundamentals of karting and the corresponding safety measures in case of accidents.
The track itself is a challenge. There are slightly banked corners, which require precision and careful maneuvering.
Additionally, Callahan Speedway hosts a variety of events throughout the year. Notably, the GOAT Series made a stop here, featuring multiple divisions and offering big prize money.
They also accommodate local events, such as the Florida Karting Series, which usually schedules races every year. The track’s inclusion in this series implies its significance in the regional karting industry and its reputation for organizing competitive events.
Pro tip: Arrive early to grab a good pit spot and walk the track before practice. This will help you know the dirt’s condition, giving you a real edge during the race. |
7. Daytona Lagoon

I’m telling you this – you can’t miss the go-karts at Daytona Lagoon. This multi-level track is one of the park’s most popular attractions, perfect for anyone seeking outdoor activities.
There are no worries whether you’re a first-timer or a professional karting fan, as the track itself is suitable for all kinds of racers. However, the layout of the course requires strategy because there are sharp turns and long straightaways.
As you climb higher on the track, you’ll be able to see the beauty of Daytona Beach.
However, keep in mind that to drive a single go-kart, you’ll need to be at least 54 inches tall. If you want to be a passenger in the double karts, your minimum height should be 36 inches.
Pro tip: Visit Daytona Lagoon’s go-karts earlier in the day or on weekdays to avoid long lines. Remember, less wait time means more laps and chances to master the multi-level track. |
