High-quality food worth waiting for
The best food and so fresh. Amazingly delicious, and you know the food is good when there is a line. Bakery is definitely a must, my favorite is the Wedding cake, German Cake, & chocolate chip cookies!!! The bruschetta is the best I’ve had and there are a variety to choose from. Burgers are excellent and if you have time to dine and wait in a long line, it’s an experience. It’s a small place but the food is high end quality!

2. Sweet Theory Baking Co.

Address: 1243 King St
Contact: (904) 387-1001 | [email protected]
Hours: Tuesday-Friday 8:30 AM-4:00 PM; Saturday 9:00 AM-4:00 PM
Sweet Theory Baking Co. is a rare victory if you’re looking for a completely allergy-friendly bakery that delivers incredible taste.
Their cozy King Street spot treats visitors to small-batch baked goods completely free of eggs, dairy, peanuts, and soy. Plus, they use all-natural, organic ingredients, such as real fruit glazes. Everything here is prepared from scratch every morning.
My cousin ordered a custom birthday cake here last month. The texture was so wonderfully moist that none of the guests could even tell it was entirely vegan.
Even better, the staff is incredibly knowledgeable about dietary restrictions. This makes organizing treats for sensitive guests completely stress-free.
Overall, this is a wonderful haven for anyone with food allergies!
On the flip side, you do need to plan your celebrations well in advance, as custom cakes require several weeks of notice. Additionally, popular items sell out quickly because they are baked in limited quantities.

Friendly staff and awesome treats
I don’t think I’ve ever gone into Sweet Theory and not been made to smile by the nicest staff in Riverside! I’m grinning ear to ear just writing about them! The only thing sweeter are the goods they offer. Not a dud in the shop! I’ve had everything from cupcakes and brownies to pound cake and cookies here. Get there early, your favorites WILL sell out! These folks are AWESOME at what they do!

Delicious and reasonably priced sweets
I ordered coffee cake, a cinnamon roll, zucchini bread with chocolate chips (GF), Blood orange poppy seed pound cake (GF), and lemon raspberry pouncake (GF). My total was about $20 (soooo reasonable!) I drove back home to Orlando and ate the sweets over the next three days. All were exceptionally delicious: fresh, flavorful, and the perfect texture. The zucchini bread is so light and fluffy! Nothing was overly sweet. The staff was polite and helpful. The shop is so dang cute! Overall, great experience!! Would rate 10 stars!

Address: 1523 Penman Road
Contact: (904) 246-1728 | [email protected]
Hours: Tuesday-Saturday 6:00 AM-3:00 PM
Cinotti’s Bakery-Sandwich Shop brings a comforting, old-fashioned charm to your event desserts by leaning on over 65 years of family tradition. Here, you can pick up a custom cake alongside catered sandwich trays for your gathering.
For starters, this fifth-generation family business operates a traditional bakery, a lunch spot, and an authentic Italian market.
They also provide exceptional customization for tiered wedding cakes and vibrant birthday designs, relying on time-tested recipes that locals trust.
It’s also great that this bakery has expanded to a downtown LaVilla location. With this, order collection is highly convenient for commuters.
That said, you must be prepared for some rigid store policies. For one, they enforce strict communication guidelines and won’t click on external links for cake design inspiration.
They also don’t provide pricing details online, so you must contact them directly for basic quotes. Keep in mind that all deposits are non-refundable.

Amazing selection and tasty finds
Taste and see that the Lord is good, and Cinottis is very good indeed! First time visiting this shop, recommended to visit by friends, and will be back. Such a huge selection, it was hard to pick and also felt a little pressure with the line behind me. In the end, left with some cake donuts of diff flavors, a twisty, an apple fritter which was yummy and my favorite find was a glazed crossiant. Yum!

4. Light on the Sugar Bakery Café

Address: 4860 Big Island Dr Unit 2
Contact: (904) 738-7822 | [email protected]
Hours: Mondays-Sundays 11:00 AM-9:00 PM
Light on the Sugar Bakery Café is an innovative French-Asian fusion concept that dessert enthusiasts who prefer subtle sweetness over sugary overload will appreciate.
What we love most is that they reduce sugar levels to let natural ingredients shine. They also create unique formats like multi-layered crêpe cakes, giant cream puffs, and oversized macarons.
Everything is prepared by hand from scratch inside the kitchen daily, too! It’s also worth noting that the seasonal menu rotates regularly to keep the selection fresh, featuring creative treats like taro pastries and specialty tarts.
We stopped by their modern café to try the ube cheesecake crêpe cake. The visual presentation looked exactly like a stunning work of art.
Keep in mind that the artisanal techniques come with premium pricing. These elegant desserts are a bit of a luxury splurge rather than a casual daily bite.
Plus, the modern seating area is relatively compact, so you must expect a wait during the busy weekend rush.

Cozy shop with high-quality pastries
A very cozy little pastry shop. Their caramel Biscoff crepe cake and teddy black forest chocolate tart were delicious BUT the pistachio dark chocolate tart was OUT OF THIS WORLD! The pana cotta was light yet creamy. Only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because I feel a greater selection and number of pastries are required in such a high volume area like the St. John’s Town Center. On a weekend, be prepared for them to be sold out of majority of their offerings by 1 pm.

Incredible delights and amazing flavors
FIRST THINGS FIRST – Don’t come here unless you’re serious about putting respect on your tongue. Art at your eyes. Serendipitous oohh-romas. This place here, right here! Yes. I personally suggest cleaning under your fingernails as you’re likely to both dig right into the delights and lick your fingers clean. I’m talking about a napkin don’t get no love here. No plain Jane anythane. (Spelled like that on purpose). The mango cake was like the fruit in cake form. The pistachio crumb dark chocolate pretty pie of pleasantness was Ooo-oo-weeeee. Take a date here.

Perfect vegan and gluten-free cakes
This is THE place to get a vegan, gluten free, triple layer cake even if you don’t follow these dietary restrictions. I’m vegan so like to order this way, but none of the 15 yr olds at our party last night could tell and were all raving about it! One of the guests was gluten free so I was glad we ordered this option especially since this guest normally doesn’t get to eat cake. She was beyond excited. We went with blueberry lavender frosting and berry filling between the chocolate layers…….Devine. 10 out of 5 stars.⭐️

Great customer service and tasty cakes
I saw the “death by chocolate” cake when stopping by the Avondale Southern Coffee Grounds location. I asked if they sold it whole (I had never tried it but it looked amazing), and they referred me to the bakery and how to get in touch. I emailed as I wanted this for my mom’s birthday, and got a quick reply. They customized the top for me and it was by far one of the best cakes we’ve had. Great customer service, great price for a cake, and would definitely order from them again!
