1. Meymand Oral Maxillofacial Surgery

Website: https://www.meymandoms.com/
Address: 11571 San Jose Blvd, Unit 1
Contact: 904-886-2667 | Fax: 904-886-9667
Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Meymand Oral Maxillofacial Surgery is on our list because of their expertise. They specialize in oral and maxillofacial surgery, which diagnoses and treats mouth injuries.
Their oral surgeon, Dr. Samira Meymand, has a military background handling severe and emergency surgeries. Part of her approach includes placing single-stage dental implants to skip the need for a second procedure.
To help anxious patients, the clinic relies on a fully trained IV (Intravenous) sedation staff to ensure you sleep comfortably through the process.
They even write your post-operative pain prescriptions before you sit in the chair. This smart step means you can head straight home to rest instead of standing in line at a pharmacy while groggy.
However, the practice doesn’t fabricate permanent prosthetic teeth in-house. You’ll have to coordinate with a general dentist for your final crown or bridge.

Expert care and mild recovery pain
Dr. Meymand is truly an expert in her field. I had 2 wisdom teeth pulled and the process was overall a very good experience. She’s detailed, she’s direct, and clearly she knows what she is doing. The pain was honestly very mild with the process she had in place. I didn’t have to wait like some other reviews said, but I would have no problem waiting a few minutes in order to get clearly the best dentist/oral surgeon I’ve seen.

Highly recommended for complex extraction
Dr. Meymand’s staff were so nice and made me feel comfortable. Nobody likes to have a tooth extraction. Mine was actually a root canal extraction and it was a bit complicated. I felt absolutely comfortable with Dr. Meymand and knowing that a talented, accomplished, smart and completely competent person was doing this work on me. Now that I have had this procedure with her, I wouldn’t go anywhere else for this sort of thing. I also wouldn’t let any of my friends go anywhere else.

Comfortable experience for dental anxiety
Dr. Farrell and his staff are amazing. They listened to my concerns regarding dental anxiety. As a team, they made sure I felt comfortable and explained the procedure very well before beginning. After the procedure Dr. Farrell checked on me to make sure I was okay and to make sure I understood my aftercare. I highly recommend North Florida oral & facial Surgery.

First Coast Oral Surgery stands out by offering direct consultation access without requiring a prior dentist referral. This simple policy saves you an extra step of visiting another clinic.
If you need urgent reconstructive surgery, their oral and maxillofacial surgeons’ active hospital privileges at Baptist Medical Center will be invaluable for your recovery.
Another worth mentioning is their advanced PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) therapy, which accelerates bone healing. This establishes a strong foundation for future dental implants.
They stand out once more for their emergency care with 24/7 hospital-based trauma support for acute jaw fractures and severe facial injuries.
One downside here is their billing structure. You’re completely responsible for all treatment fees upfront regardless of your insurance payout.

Friendly professional care over the years
I’ve used Dr. Skigen as my oral surgeon for several years now. He is always friendly, personable and professional. He always tells me what to expect right before he starts a procedure, e.g. some noise, vibration, pressure, etc. He’s always concerned for my comfort and well being. I can’t imagine going to any other oral surgeon. Finally, a big “shoutout” to his front office staff. They are all just amazing!

Dwayne is truly the best dental assistant, and Dr. Francois is an exceptional oral surgeon. I was extremely anxious about getting my wisdom teeth removed, but they both went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable. Their warm, personable bedside manner instantly put me at ease and gave me complete confidence in their care. They also followed up with me several times during the healing process, which made me feel genuinely cared for. Any oral surgery I may need in the future, I would only trust this amazing duo to take care of me!

They use a military-friendly approach, catering to service members and their families across coastal communities.

What’s more, the highly trained surgical assistants provide steady communication to guide you smoothly through the entire implant process. They even answer urgent calls 24 hours a day to handle sudden pain or post-procedure complications.
Unfortunately, you have to call the office first to verify your insurance coverage, creating an annoying administrative hurdle before booking your visit.

5. Dr. Richard Joseph, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery

Address: 5101 Gate Parkway, Suite 1
Contact: 904-807-9898 | Fax: 904-807-9873 | [email protected]
Hours: Monday-Thursday, 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Dr. Richard Joseph has more than 30 years of surgical practice. He has a unique fine arts background, which he uses in his aesthetic harmony approach to jaw repositioning.
Plus, his intensive four-year multi-specialty residency equips him to handle intricate revision surgeries for patients requiring secondary interventions. For us, this high level of academic and hospital leadership sets a very strong clinical standard.
His clinic uses virtual simulations to create a customized digital preview of your corrective jaw surgery before the surgery starts. Plus, he’ll coordinate with local orthodontists from day one to significantly shorten your overall treatment timeline.
However, his office operates on a strict appointment-only basis. Sadly, you can’t drop in for immediate care if an unexpected oral issue arises.

Positive and pain-free wisdom teeth removal
I had the MOST positive and PAINFREE experience. I have had horrible dental care growing up, and was petrified to have my wisdom teeth taken out. My goodness those shots in the roof of your mouth are gut wrenching painful. I can not say enough GREAT comments of Doctor Joseph. He’s kind, wonderful “chair side mannor”. He genuinely cares for his patients. If you are in need of a oral surgeon, Dr. Joseph is the best.

Outstanding care and accommodating practice
If you’re looking for an amazing oral surgeon, look no further. Dr. Joseph and his loving staff operated on my daughter (13). Dr. Joseph in his calm and professional manner explained our options and made us feel confident with his recommendation. Even when we had to come back early to treat some unforseen bleeding, my daughter was seen the same day. I can’t stress enough how pleasant and professional everyone in the office is. Appointments on time, clear instructions and overall great dental care. We’d definitely come back if we’ll need wisdom teeth removals or other oral surgeon services.
