I’ve spent enough time on great local nightclubs’ dance floors to know when a DJ’s actually reading the room. Great music doesn’t just fill silence—it decides whether people stay seated or suddenly forget they have work tomorrow!
Finding the best DJ in Jacksonville means looking past a flashy booth and a giant playlist. You want someone who can switch gears smoothly, keep the energy climbing, and not murder the vibe with one badly timed track.
So I checked out local DJs across Duval County with weddings, private parties, and packed dance floors in mind. These are the names I’d consider when the goal is simple: keep the party moving and the awkward chair-sitting to a minimum.
How much does it cost to hire a DJ in Jacksonville?
Hiring an event DJ in Jacksonville typically costs around $1,000 to $1,700. Your final bill depends on the event length, equipment, lighting, and extras.
Casual party DJs can cost $100 to $150 per hour, with an average spend of about $457. This usually covers a basic sound system, music library, and straightforward setup.
Budget wedding packages run around $800 to $1,000. Expect roughly four to five hours of music, basic lighting, and a wired microphone.
Mid-range wedding packages typically cost $1,200 to $1,800. These may include ceremony and reception audio, wireless microphones, uplighting, and timeline assistance.
For a bigger production, expect $1,900 to $2,500 or more. Premium packages can add MC services, custom lighting, and live-musician collaborations.
1. Party Solution Entertainment

Address: 4940 Emerson St #104
Contact: (904) 503 4668 | [email protected]
Hours: Available 24/7
Party Solution Entertainment has been in the mix since 1998, and that kind of mileage matters when the dance floor gets unpredictable. Owner Kevin Tos covers everything from old-school favorites to hip-hop and Top 40, so the set doesn’t feel stuck on shuffle.
What stands out to me is the prep work behind the party. Their team uses timelines, song requests, and do-not-play lists, which is exactly how you avoid hearing the one track everyone secretly hates.
They can bring in extras like photo booths, lighting, projection gear, and special effects too.
That’s handy when you want the room to look as lively as it sounds.
The downside is that booking the company doesn’t guarantee Kevin will be your DJ. Add-ons like uplighting can bump up the bill too, so I’d confirm the DJ assignment and full package price before signing.
Packed Dance Floor All Night
Our dance floor was FULL. ALL. NIGHT. LONG. All of our guests had so much fun and left wanting more! This is thanks to DJ John! He did not just press play on a playlist. He mixed songs that had everyone turnt!!! He included a great combination of music that we liked, not just popular wedding music, and even cut a special mash-up for the mother/son dance that made the guests go wild! John was super fun and easy to work with, accommodating, professional, and I could tell he knew what he was doing.

Perfect Music and Energy for the Wedding
We got a package that included music for our ceremony and reception, and the setup was absolutely perfect. Without confirming the music selections with DJ John, the emotion from my husband when we met eyes at the altar would not have been as riveting. Beyond the music, he also led the shoe game and the night alongside our wedding management team to help the flow of the evening. The music for the dance floor was creative and matched the vibes we were going with for the wedding. Thank you for bringing the energy to our wedding!

2. Mark Aria Entertainment

Address: Staffordshire Dr S
Contact: +1 904-999-0627 | [email protected]
Hours: Available 24/7
Mark Aria Entertainment feels like a good fit for couples who want more personality than a plug-and-play wedding playlist. Marcus and Maddy run the company together, which gives the planning side a more hands-on, couple-minded feel.
Andres Martinez is another standout, especially if Latin music is part of the brief.
His Scratch Academy training in Miami and experience with salsa, merengue, reggaeton, and electronic music give him a broader bag of tricks than the usual wedding-DJ rotation.
Their mirror photo booths add some extra fun without dragging guests too far from the dance floor. Printed photo strips and interactive features make them an easy crowd-pleaser.
The catch is that booking the company doesn’t guarantee Marcus or Andres personally.
Photo booths and lighting can raise the total too, so I’d confirm the assigned DJ and package inclusions before paying a deposit.
Great Music That Kept Everyone Dancing
We hired Mark Aria Entertainment to DJ/MC our wedding this past January, and I was soooo happy we did. Andres worked our event, and we couldn’t have asked for a better DJ. He completely understood our vision and was very personable and professional the entire evening. He KILLED the music for the dance floor! It was just what I wanted to keep people dancing all evening, and even made sure to include a new remix I asked him about two days prior. I had the time of my life, and I’m so grateful to have hired this incredible company!

Personalized Music and Seamless Wedding Coordination
Andres was the best DJ – he really played the best mix of music that represented both of our families and ourselves! We really loved being able to fill out the MAE questionnaire leading up to our wedding – the questions allowed the MAE team to really get to know which music we loved and which vibes we wanted throughout each part of our event. My favorite thing about MAE is that they work SEAMLESSLY with venues and wedding coordinators/planners. We also loved their amazing uplighting, which helped bring our venue space to life while folks danced the night away.

3. A-1 Majestic Sound (All Star DJs)

Address: 1254 Mayport Landing Cir
Contact: 904-270-1966 | [email protected]
Hours: Monday–Friday, 11 AM – 9 PM | Saturday–Sunday, noon – 9 PM
A-1 Majestic Sound has been working Jacksonville events for more than 20 years, so they’ve had plenty of time to learn what keeps a room moving.
Founder Jay Rock seems especially strong on the MC side, handling announcements and reception timing without making the night feel overproduced.
I like that their music approach is flexible rather than built around one rigid playlist. Clients can shape the soundtrack around their own requests, while the DJs still have room to read the crowd when the dance floor needs a rescue.
Karaoke and uplighting give you a few extra ways to dress up the party too. That makes them useful for weddings, private parties, and events that need a little more than speakers and a microphone.
The downside is that A-1 works with several DJs, so booking the company doesn’t automatically mean Jay will be behind the booth.
Add-ons like uplighting can raise the final bill too.
Packed Dance Floor and Great Wedding Experience
We hired A-1 Majestic Sound for our daughter and son-in-law’s wedding. It was a great experience throughout. BC did an excellent job as the DJ and MC. He took the time to get to know them personally through phone conversations and meetings with them in person. At their wedding, everyone had a great time! The dance floor stayed packed! Guests are still raving. Thank you for being part of such a special day💫

Amazing Music Variety Year After Year
We have used Jay as the DJ for our Wine Club Dinner Dance for the last several years. We hire him for our event every year because of the amazing job he does. He plays a wide variety of music that keeps people on the dance floor all night. He is great to work with; you will not be disappointed.

4. DjsToGo Wedding & Party Pros

Address: 12620 Beach Blvd
Contact: (904) 221-1818 | [email protected]
Hours: Monday–Sunday, 9 AM – 5 PM
DjsToGo Wedding & Party Pros makes a strong case for couples who want clear pricing before the first dance even starts.
Their wedding packages spell out the basics upfront, including DJ/MC service, lighting, wireless mics, and timeline support.
What I like most is that they don’t treat ceremony audio like an afterthought. Their Essential bundle includes a separate ceremony sound system, which is handy when vows are happening somewhere other than the reception space.
The planning side feels practical too, with music requests and timeline guidance built into the process. That can take some pressure off couples who’d rather enjoy the party than micromanage every cue.
The catch is that Saturday pricing runs higher than Friday or Sunday.
Reception-only packages are cheaper too, but you’ll need the Essential bundle if you want ceremony coverage included.
Packed Dance Floor and Fun Photo Booth
DJ Ed was fantastic! He kept the dance floor at our wedding busy all night & did a great job accommodating schedule changes throughout the night. We also booked the photo booth option & our guests haven’t stopped talking about it. The attendant that came with him for the booth was so kind & made sure everyone got their copy of the photo strips. We also got a full digital gallery of all the photo booth pics & loved seeing all our friends & family having such a great time. We cannot recommend DJs to Go enough!

Great Music, Energy, and Professional Setup
We hired DjsToGo (DJ Ed Kinney) for a work holiday party, and he was absolutely fantastic! From start to finish, the energy was perfect—great song selections (even holiday songs), seamless transitions. DJ Ed also took requests and blended them perfectly into the vibe of the evening. The setup was professional, the sound quality was excellent, and the lighting added a festive touch. Highly recommend DJ Ed for any event if you want a memorable and stress-free experience!

5. Generation Y Entertainment (GYE)

Address: 25 N Market St
Contact: +1 904-334-7629 | [email protected]
Hours: Monday–Friday, 10 AM – 5 PM
Generation Y Entertainment feels built for couples who want a wedding DJ without the tired party-host routine. The vibe leans modern and club-inspired, with live mixing, Bose audio, and a vintage mic that gives the setup a little extra style.
I like that the pricing is refreshingly simple instead of being chopped into endless packages.
Their standard quote covers most core services, including ceremony audio and discreet lapel mics for vows.
They carry up to $2 million in liability coverage too, which can make venue paperwork less of a headache. Better yet, they book only one wedding per day, so your event isn’t sharing their attention.
The catch is the 30% non-refundable deposit. They recommend booking nine to twelve months ahead as well, so popular dates are worth locking in early.
High Energy and Seamless Wedding Flow
We could not have asked for a better wedding DJ than Caleb and Generation Y. From day one, he was incredibly intentional with every interaction, always taking the time to understand our vision and make sure every detail was covered. On the wedding day, he absolutely brought the energy, keeping the energy high, the dance floor packed, and the entire night flowing seamlessly. He was thoughtful, considerate, and genuinely invested in making our day special, which gave us complete confidence throughout the process.

Personalized Music That Kept Everyone Dancing
Highly, highly recommend booking Caleb! He was the DJ at our wedding, and he was absolutely the best!! We were very picky when it came to music, and we don’t love the typical music that is played at weddings. Caleb helped cater to our music taste and made sure to include very important songs to use. Every meeting we had with him felt very personable and was easy to communicate and work with! Thank you, Caleb. We truly danced the night away, and all our guests talked about how great the music was!
