5 Best Gyms in Jacksonville to Crush Your Goals

We extensively test and research all services we review. Here's why you can trust us.

Equipment Variety and Quality: We looked for solid machines, free weights, and enough variety to keep workouts from getting stale.

Operating Hours and Access: Early starts and late finishes earned extra points. A gym shouldn’t make your schedule do burpees.

Membership Flexibility and Costs: We checked the fees, contracts, and fine print. Surprise charges don’t count as cardio!

Atmosphere and Community: We paid attention to the overall vibe. A welcoming gym makes showing up regularly a lot easier.

I’ve spent years letting personal trainers tell me what to lift, when to breathe, and why one more rep is somehow reasonable. Now I’m ready for a gym where I can train on my own terms without feeling completely abandoned.

Finding the best gym in Jacksonville isn’t just about shiny machines or a wall of intimidating dumbbells. I wanted somewhere that fits my schedule, training style, and growing confidence outside one-on-one sessions.

So I looked at Jacksonville gyms with different strengths, from serious lifting spaces to class-heavy community spots. Here’s where I’d start if you’re ready to swap constant coaching for a little more freedom.

How much does it cost to join a gym in Jacksonville?

Gym memberships in Jacksonville can start at around $9.99 per month. Premium group training can climb past $149 monthly.

Budget chains usually cost $9.99 to $25 per month. Watch for annual fees of around $49 to $59.99.

Mid-tier and 24/7 gyms typically charge $35 to $58 monthly. Setup or enrollment fees may add another $27 to $99.

Community centers like the YMCA can be more flexible. Day passes may run around $4 to $10, while monthly memberships vary by tier.

Premium group training starts at roughly $149 per month. Some programs may require a 12-month commitment.

Always check the fine print before joining. Enrollment, annual maintenance, cancellation, and other fees can make a cheap-looking membership considerably pricier.

1. Iron House Gym Jacksonville

iron-house-gym-jacksonville-logo

Website

Address: 9244 Arlington Expy, Suite B

Contact: (904) 329-1040

Hours: Mon – Fri: 8 AM – 9 PM; Sat – Sun: 8 AM – 7 PM (24/7 access for Standard & Premium members)

Iron House Gym feels built for people who actually enjoy lifting heavy. With more than 18,000 square feet and gear for bodybuilding, powerlifting, Olympic lifting, and strongman training, it’s hard to run out of ways to challenge yourself.

I like that the setup goes beyond the usual commercial-gym basics. You’ll find specialty bars, platforms, combo racks, machines, turf space, plus recovery extras like massage therapy and an infrared sauna.

The vibe leans serious, but that doesn’t mean beginners are automatically out of place.

Standard and Premium members get 24/7 access, which makes squeezing in an early or late session much easier.

The catch is that Basic membership only covers staffed hours, and some recovery perks cost extra. Month-to-month plans are pricier too, so the headline rate isn’t always the rate you’ll actually pay.

Pros

  • Huge 18,000+ sq ft strength-focused facility
  • Excellent selection for powerlifting, bodybuilding, Olympic lifting, and strongman
  •
  •
  •
  • Suitable for beginners as well as serious lifters

Cons

  • Basic membership doesn’t include 24/7 access
  • Sauna and some recovery services cost extra
  • Month-to-month plans cost more than longer-term options

Equipment is top-tier, and ownership is always making improvements 🤌🏼

Been a member since day 1 (MVB). Iron House is home. The 45min commute is worth it. Members are like-minded, different, but we all have the same goal: to get better. Everyone is focused on their goals and actually working! And I love the gym atmosphere: judgement-free, positive, uplifting, and inspiring. Equipment is top-tier, and ownership is always making improvements 🤌🏼

Supportive, motivating, and all-together tight-knit, positive community

I’ve trained at Ironhouse for almost 3 years, and I’ve never trained at a gym with a more supportive, motivating, and all-together tight-knit, positive community and it’s not even close. Seeing people lie and try and say that it’s not is really funny to me lol. If anyone is ever in the area and wants to go to a gym with GREAT equipment, super cool people, and a dope vibe this is def a place worth checking out. And remember, don’t believe everything you hear from convicted felons 🤙🏽

2. SoFit Athletics

Website

Address: 8535 Baymeadows Rd #57

Contact: (904) 747-9377

Hours: Mon–Thu 5 AM–7:30 PM, Fri 5 AM–6:30 PM, Sat 9 AM–11 AM

SoFit Athletics feels less like a place to wander around aimlessly and more like a gym with a game plan. Its small-group functional fitness and HYROX sessions are coach-led, structured, and built to keep you moving with purpose.

I like that beginners aren’t expected to magically know every movement on day one.

Coaches can scale workouts, correct technique, and keep the pace challenging without turning every class into survival mode.

There’s one-on-one personal training too, which is handy if you want more focused guidance. The community-driven setup makes it a strong fit if accountability helps you stay consistent.

The trade-off is that this isn’t really a traditional open-floor gym for solo lifting whenever you please. Saturday hours are short, Sunday availability is limited, and some drop-in options come with experience requirements.

Pros

  • Coach-led functional fitness and HYROX training
  • Small-group setup with more hands-on guidance
  •
  • One-on-one personal training available
  •
  • Drop-in sessions available for some programs

Cons

  •
  • Saturday hours are limited
  • Some Functional Fitness drop-ins require prior experience

Ariel and Leslie are great coaches

I’ve been going to SoFit Athletics for around two months now and I do their Hyrox programming and LOVE it! Ariel and Leslie are great coaches and will help with whatever you need. They are attuned to any form of injury and will work with you to rehab it back to operating status! Rueben the other owner is super nice as well, he coaches the functional fitness portion.

I love it here!

I love it here! Everyone, even the elite athletes, is so humble and welcoming.

I enjoy being able to get my fitness in at a place that allows you to come as you are, no matter your level, and get skillful coaching with a nice group of folks.

3. Crunch Fitness – Regency Park

crunch-fitness-regency-park-logo

Website

Address: 9400 Atlantic Blvd

Contact: (904) 456-1300

Hours: Mon–Fri: 5 AM–10 PM; Sat–Sun: 7 AM–7 PM

Crunch Fitness at Regency Park is a solid pick if you like having plenty of workout options without taking things too seriously.

There’s a good mix of cardio, free weights, strength machines, functional space, boxing, and group classes to keep boredom away.

I like that you can shift from a treadmill session to HIIT, Zumba, or Pilates-style training without changing gyms. The atmosphere feels approachable, which makes it easier to show up even when motivation’s playing hide-and-seek.

Membership choices cover both budget and premium ends, so there’s some flexibility depending on what you actually use. Just remember that classes and recovery perks aren’t included with every tier.

The catch is that the lowest advertised rate comes with an annual commitment, while month-to-month costs more.

Peak weekday hours can get busy too, so timing your workout matters.

Pros

  • Wide mix of cardio, weights, machines, and functional training
  •
  • Approachable, mainstream gym atmosphere
  •
  • Recovery amenities available on higher plans
  • Good variety for changing up your routine

Cons

  •
  •
  • Group classes aren’t included with the cheapest tier
  •
  • Weekday before- and after-work periods can get busy

It’s exactly what I think a gym should be

I love this place! Honestly, I’m still in the beginning stages of my workout journey, and I thought I would have to drag myself in this place. Never that! Ask for a tour in the beginning!!! Cameron hooked me up, and I know where to find the “threatening” stuff when I’m ready. Plus an angel on earth, Keith, devoting his time and energy to showing me how to use the “threatening” stuff. This place is motivation in itself, through the people, the environment, or the instructions on every machine. It’s exactly what I think a gym should be.

The gym is always clean

Love Crunch Fitness Regency Park. Especially my personal trainer Jaz. She pushes and motivates me. The gym is always clean, staff are friendly & helpful. Anytime an equipment is not working. It usually gets fixed right away. My spouse & I have been here for almost 2 years & there’s no better gym in Jacksonville. It’s CRUNCH Time

4. Anytime Fitness

Website

Address: 5613-2 San Jose Blvd

Contact: (904) 731-7900

Hours: Gym: Open 24/7; Office Hours: Mon-Thu 11 AM-6:30 PM, Fri-Sat 10 AM-1 PM

Anytime Fitness on San Jose Boulevard makes a strong case for people who refuse to let gym hours boss them around. Members get 24/7 access, plus entry to thousands of Anytime Fitness locations worldwide.

I like that the setup covers the basics well, with cardio machines, strength equipment, and functional training gear.

The app and coaching options add structure when you want more than just wandering between machines. Apple Fitness+ is a nice bonus if you’re already in the Apple ecosystem.

Plus, the round-the-clock access is especially handy for shift workers, travelers, and anyone whose schedule changes by the week.

The downsides are less about the gym floor and more about the fine print.

Local pricing isn’t readily available for reference, staff isn’t there 24/7, and Android users may get less value from the Apple-specific perk.

Pros

  • 24/7 member access
  •
  • Good mix of cardio, strength, and functional training equipment
  •
  •
  • Handy for shift workers and frequent travelers

Cons

  •
  •
  •
  • Some guest access options come with extra fees

The gym is amazing!

Darryl and the team are awesome!

Really passionate about fitness and equipment selection. The gym is amazing! Not big but has everything you need and more. Very well thought-out space. Great equipment selection.

Can’t wait to come back next.

Anytime Fitness is a spot with a great atmosphere

I’ve really enjoyed being a member here. Compared to the previous commercial gym I belonged to, the experience is night and day.

The environment is consistently very clean, which is a huge plus, and the staff is extremely friendly and welcoming every time I walk through the door. The equipment has always worked and they have benches and free weights.

Anytime Fitness is a spot with a great atmosphere, I highly recommend it.

5. EnerGYM NorthJAX

energym-northjax-logo

Website

Address: 2467 Faye Road,

Contact: (904) 513-2582

Hours: Mon–Fri: 8 AM–8 PM; Sat–Sun: 9 AM–2 PM (Staffed); 24-hour member access

EnerGYM NorthJAX on Faye Road is a good fit if you like your gym simple, flexible, and open whenever motivation finally shows up.

Members get 24/7 access, plus cardio equipment, free weights, strength machines, and a dedicated deadlift platform.

I like that group classes are included with membership, so you can mix solo sessions with HIIT, Zumba, or other scheduled workouts. Showers, lockers, Wi-Fi, and tanning round things out without making the place feel overly fussy.

The pricing is fairly straightforward, with single-location and broader access options available.

Just note that the cheaper plans come with a 12-month commitment and extra enrollment or annual fees.

The bigger catch is that some headline EnerGYM perks aren’t actually at Faye Road. Childcare, sauna access, and 3D body scanning are tied to the North Main Street location instead.

Pros

  • 24/7 member access
  • Solid mix of cardio, free weights, and strength equipment
  •
  • Group classes included with membership
  • Showers, lockers, Wi-Fi, and tanning available
  • Single-location and broader access plans available

Cons

  •
  •
  • Childcare, sauna, and 3D body scanning aren’t available at Faye Road

The gym is amazing!

I came in last week for the first time and let me tell you I cancelled my other gym membership right after. From the friendly staff member named Logan who helped me locate all the equipment to the welcoming overall environment I was thoroughly impressed. If you are looking to try a new gym give this place a chance and you might never leave!

Definitely one of the best gyms I’ve been to

Great people and a great facility! It’s got everything you need whether your into bodybuilding, powerlifting, or just wanna do some quick cardio. Above all the culture sets it apart – the staff actively work with you to accommodate your needs, the various group exercise options are welcoming, beginner friendly, and fun, and I’ve yet to have a bad experience with any of the other gym-goers here. Definitely one of the best gyms I’ve been to and would recommend to almost anyone.
