Mrs. Meshell and the staff worked with my child for both 2nd AND 3rd grade. Our son was behind and struggling to stay on grade level for 3rd grade so we knew since we had success for 2nd grade there was no question but to go back to Sylvan. Classes are held twice a week at the center, and students complete daily practice at home, usually for about 30 minutes. This rhythm helps build both skill and confidence over time.
One thing to keep in mind is that Kumon’s system is very structured and self-paced, so it may not suit kids looking for more interactive, discussion-based sessions.
But Haixia Li, the lead instructor, brings strong academic credentials to the table. She holds a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Sheffield and a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering.
