What I like is how they mix quality care with thoughtful extras. Every bath includes things like blueberry facials, organic shampoos, and even bows or bandanas. These small touches really make a difference.
Their team also brings over 50 years of combined grooming experience, so you’re not dealing with beginners.
Bath House also offers add-ons like teeth brushing, nail trimming, and anal gland expression. While not glamorous, that last one helps prevent discomfort, infections, and that familiar scooting behavior.

The Barker Shop feels a bit more flexible compared to others, especially with walk-ins welcome. That’s a huge plus if you’re not the type to plan grooming appointments weeks ahead or just need something done last-minute.
It’s led by Samantha “Sam” Dolton, a Certified Master Groomer with 17 years of experience. She also gained recognition from the National Dog Grooming Association of America.
She’s also been named a Top Gun Business Professional, which adds a bit more credibility to the shop. That level of expertise shows in how they handle different breeds, which they openly accommodate.
What really sets this place apart, though, is their dog boarding setup. Dogs get spacious suites, supervised playtime, and plenty of attention. Cats enjoy a separate, quiet space with multi-level condos designed for comfort.
However, I didn’t quite like the cut they gave my dog despite showing a picture of the preferred cut. So, grooming results can be hit or miss depending on expectations.

“I’ve been taking my dogs to Kat for several years now, and I truly wouldn’t trust anyone else with them. Both of my dogs absolutely adore her, they get excited to go, which says everything. Kat is incredibly patient, especially with my little one who can be a bit difficult at times, and she always handles them with kindness and care.
They consistently come out looking beautifully groomed with amazing haircuts every single visit. Kat does a wonderful job and really pays attention to the details. She’s also very professional and communicative, she always lets me know ahead of time when they’ll be ready, and they’re almost always finished right on schedule.

All Tails Pet Spa has been in the game since 2006, so they bring nearly two decades of experience to the table. They strike a nice balance between everyday grooming and more elevated spa-style treatments.
One thing I appreciate is their use of Nature’s Specialties shampoos. It’s cruelty-free and suitable for all breeds. It’s a small detail, but it shows they’re mindful about product quality.
If you want to go all out, their luxury spa package includes everything from blueberry facials to paw balm and even a finishing cologne. It’s definitely more of a pampering experience than a basic groom.
They also offer flexible options like bath and brush, mini grooms, or full grooming sessions. I love that they tailor their care to your dog’s specific needs.
However, they may not always be the best fit for highly anxious pets, as some clients noted challenges with the staff handling them.

A friend of mine tried Bark. The way they described it, it felt more like a full pet lifestyle hub than just a grooming spot.
The company has been around since 2009, and apparently, its reputation really shows. They’ve even won Best of Jax and Bold City Best, which gave them extra confidence going in.
What I liked most was the convenience. You can get grooming, daycare, training, and boarding all in one place. So, there’s no need to hop between different providers.
My friend also mentioned the pricing felt pretty reasonable. Grooming starts at around $40. And add-ons like nail care or teeth brushing are still affordable, starting at about $6.
One thing they actually took advantage of was the $30 daycare add-on during grooming. Their dog got to socialize while waiting, which made the whole experience smoother… though temperament testing is required.
The only limitation is that grooming services are strictly for dogs—no cats.

“My pup is the allergy queen (like her mama lol) so she has to keep her hair really short and it helps with the Florida heat. I will just say it, Bark is the best groomer in Jacksonville! My dog doesn’t have any issues to the soaps they use, she’s always happy to be there, the groomers do an excellent job and everyone is so friendly. Oh and the prices are top notch! Let me tell you, I’ve gone to other big name groomers in town and dropped at least $100 before tip for a basic groom and it’s a very stressful environment. Keep up the amazing work, Bark! “Not only were they able to fit me in quickly(just a bath not full groom) but my doggo has never been happier! The dremel on his nails was so good that they stayed rounded as they grew. Entire staff was pleasant, knowledgeable, and are genuine pet people. My dog is reactive to other dogs but great with people and this was not an issue (huge relief for mom) and he even got a good report card from the bather.

Ooh La La Pet Spaw & Hotel leans into a more playful, upscale vibe. The free first day of daycare is a nice touch, in my opinion. It gives you a chance to see how your dog adjusts before committing.
What really stands out here is the transparency. They offer live camera access during daycare hours, so you can check in and actually see what your pet is up to. That’s a big reassurance to many owners.
Their grooming is also reasonably priced. Bath and brush services start at $48 for smaller dogs, which sits on the affordable side. Beyond that, they offer luxury boarding, daycare, and even a splash park.
Plus, the company has a “Barkery” for fresh treats you can give your furry friends. Not only that, but they do take safety seriously, requiring updated vaccines and health checks before admission.
One limitation, though, is that they don’t accept dogs older than 15 years because there’s no on-site vet.

Not only was our groomer top notch, but she allowed us to see the daycare and boarding portions of the facility for our future bookings. Everything was clean, well maintained and the staff were obviously extremely caring. Everything animal that we saw was treated with health and safety in mind. I will be bringing my pets here for all of our grooming, boarding and daycare needs.
