Founded in 2006, Jacksonville School of Music is a top-notch, state-of-the-art private music lesson service. I appreciate that their instructors are some of the best in the industry, and their passion for teaching and music extends to their students.
Piano isn’t the only instrument taught at this institution, but they also provide tutoring for guitar, bass, and drums. Students have also sung (literally) praises for their vocal coaching, which I highly value for the instructor’s patience.
Students are also given the chance to participate in summer music camp, which is a fun way to meet like-minded individuals. The school has also been a Bold City Best Winner in 2019, truly showcasing its passion for music.
However, classes here are expensive at $130 per month with a one-time registration fee of $45.

Nikki’s Piano Studio traces its roots back to Nikki Groff’s story. Having been tutored by the great Vera Watson and Dr. Kevin Orr, Nikki has dedicated her life to piano full-time.
Established in 2009, I simply adore that Nikki’s Piano Studio has been a proud member of the Jacksonville Music Teachers Association and the Music Teachers National Association.
Lessons with Nikki are strict, yet precise. She’s a patient tutor who teaches students the basics and caters to both kids, teens, and adults. While the first few lessons were intimidating, I found myself enjoying the time I spent with her and in her classes.
I like that she also offers makeup lessons if a student misses one, but these aren’t guaranteed.
But my only gripe with her services is that she requires you to eventually upgrade to an acoustic piano, since that’s her forte.

Wind of Change Academy was started by Yana Weaver, who has been teaching since she was 19. Since its establishment in 2008, Yana’s academy has gathered over 20 teachers who teach students piano, guitar, and even vocal lessons.
Lessons are taught by college-trained instructors, and students have the opportunity to showcase their talents at recitals and talent shows held twice a year. Instruction can begin as early as age three, which is younger than at many other academies.
I love that this academy offers flexible class hours, which is rare in this industry. Additionally, Yana offers discounts for multiple students per class, and payments are made monthly.
Students can also schedule a try-out music session, and this doesn’t incur any registration fees.
Just note that classes may occasionally be cancelled due to various factors. However, makeup classes are provided when this occurs.

Piano Lessons with Ms. Cheryl is focused on personalized, one-on-one sessions that are beginner-friendly. I love how caring and patient she is, providing students with an atmosphere that allows confidence-building.
I appreciate that classes with Ms. Cheryl are flexible and can be done through homeschool sessions. Additionally, she provides flexible schedules for adult clients. Being a retiree, she has a wealth of experience and teaches students from ages 4 to 94.
Piano lessons with her stretch to 17 guaranteed lessons, with a flat monthly tuition that’s fairly reasonable. I simply adore that she also hosts a final recital for students once a year during the winter, allowing them to showcase their talents live.
However, I found out that she can only accommodate a few students at a time, so be sure to sign up quickly.

“Ms. Cheryl is a gem! She has such a positive and uplifting personality and has really taken the time to get to know my daughter’s personality, encouraging her when she feels frustrated and motivating her with so many fun approaches including games and songs that she is interested in – Christmas songs in September at my daughter’s request! Every lesson she asks my daughter what she likes and what she wants to do and this helps my very reluctant child. She loves piano but struggles with the structure of lessons and perfectionism. Ronan School of Music is a lovely music tutoring service that provides classes for casual enthusiasts to serious students. Teachers at this institution are well-known performers within the community.
Some notable instructors in this service include Tom LeGrand, Anna Strickland, and Arvid Smith, all of whom are skilled pianists. Additionally, Jay Deen, who holds a Master of Fine Arts in Theatre Arts Education, offers piano masterclasses for students.
Lessons are reasonably priced, with a monthly fee of $100 for four lessons. Payments are also flexible, as clients may pay anytime before the second week of each month.
Aside from these, there are also band instrument rentals and summer camp, which are fun ways to learn outside the classroom.
However, class schedules are irregular due to inconsistent time slots.
