5 Best Speech Therapists in Jacksonville Helping Every Voice Shine

We extensively test and research all services we review. Here's why you can trust us.

Clinical Expertise and Credentials: I checked the training, certifications, and experience of each speech therapist. This helped me find providers who can support different needs, including childhood delays and speech problems caused by health conditions.

Scheduling and Waitlist Flexibility: I looked at how quickly each clinic can schedule appointments and how flexible their hours are. Faster access can make a big difference for children and adults who need steady support.

Financial and Insurance Accessibility: I considered how each clinic helps families manage costs. I looked for options such as insurance coverage, payment plans, and programs that make therapy more affordable.

Family-Centered Approach: I reviewed the extent to which each provider involves families during treatment. Clinics that offer caregiver guidance and home activities can help patients continue improving outside their sessions.

It can be confusing to find the right speech therapist when someone you care about needs help with communication. Children learning to talk and adults recovering from injuries often need different kinds of support along the way.

Besides speech therapy, some families also look into resources like mental health clinics and psychotherapists when they need extra support for emotional well-being or personal challenges.

To help you find the right help, I researched local options to help you find the best speech therapist in Jacksonville. Here are some top choices that can make communication easier.

How much does speech therapy cost in Jacksonville?

Speech therapy in Jacksonville typically costs $100 to $250 per hour without insurance, while evaluations and specialized services may cost more. Online therapy, group sessions, and insurance copays are often more affordable options.

Short Individual Session (30 Minutes)$65 – $175
Online Teletherapy$50 – $150

Address: 6821 Southpoint Dr.

Contact: 407-214-8220 | Fax: 689-698-3292 | [email protected]

Hours: Monday to Friday 9:00 AM–6:00 PM | Saturday 10:00 AM–4:00 PM

More Than A Voice Speech Therapy helps families get support faster by offering immediate evaluations without long wait times.

Their team uses fun, play-based activities for children and provides adult voice programs like SpeakOut for people with Parkinson’s disease.

I also like that they guide families through out-of-network insurance details and offer financial aid scholarships to make care more accessible. A local parent shared how helpful their coaching was when practicing skills at home.

Another nice option is the choice between in-person and telehealth sessions, giving families more flexibility with appointments.

One thing to know is that families with Blue Cross Blue Shield HMO plans need a doctor’s referral first. The clinic is also out of network for that insurance option.

Pros

  • Immediate evaluations without waitlists
  • Play-based and adult voice programs
  • In-person and telehealth options
  • Financial aid scholarships available

Cons

  • BCBS HMO referral requirement
  • Out-of-network insurance limitations

So nice and knowledgeable

I’m leaving a review because I had a consultation with Monica and she was so nice and knowledgeable and actually helped me learn about exactly what I needed. She actually helped be realize I didn’t need any speech therapy. I could tell she wasn’t just trying to treat me like a number and bill my insurance. She really wants me to feel better. She helped me find the right resources and I’m so thankful that someone like her is actually looking after patients.

Really makes it easy for him to learn

My son loves Monica. We’ve been through a few clinics with no results but his speech and sentence forming has already gotten better in just a few months with her. I knew communication therapy would be difficult for him cause he hates paying attention. But she really makes it easy for him to learn.

Incredibly knowledgeable and thorough

I can’t say enough good things about Broad Horizons Speech Therapy. I came to them during such a vulnerable time, unsure and overwhelmed, but from the very first interaction, I felt supported and understood. Their team is not only incredibly knowledgeable and thorough, but also deeply compassionate.

They took the time to truly understand my child’s needs and created a plan that was both effective and encouraging. The progress we’ve seen has been incredible, not just in speech, but in confidence too.

The experience has been great

Broad Horizons is amazing. We had a hard time finding a speech therapist in our area, and we were happy to find out they could provide therapy to our son via video. The experience has been great. Ms. Henry is amazing. She makes my child feel comfortable. I also appreciate the communication with the administrative staff.

Great collaborator and a very knowledgeable speech pathologist

Laura from Ideas Speech Therapy is a great collaborator and a very knowledgeable speech pathologist. She provides effective therapy and the children that she works with make gains through her play-based sessions. I am an adult SLP and highly recommend her to any parent interested in services for their child!

A great teacher

My daughter Emilia had speech therapy for months with Laura. Emilia has shown great improvement. I was lucky to be paired with Laura, because she is a great teacher. But more so, working with a 2yr old can be tough. They beat to their own drum. To see that she was patient with my daughter and redirected us at every turn was relief for me as a mom. She used great simple and fun techniques to help her grow her vocabulary and speech. Thank you!

Very knowledgeable and professional

Alexa is very knowledgeable and professional when it comes to speech and myofunctional therapy. She is amazing with kids and I love that she always breaks everything down and explains exactly what her approach is and why she uses this approach. She always includes my son in decision-making and encourages him whether he masters an exercise or needs to continue working. We are thankful for the way she has helped boost his confidence. We look forward to continuing this journey with her and would recommend her speech and myo services to everyone.

I can’t say enough good things about Alexa and her approach

My son loves going to therapy and works hard twice a day on his exercises. He knows a release is in our future and is already more accepting of that because of the way Alexa has worked with him.  I can’t say enough good things about Alexa and her approach to therapy. If you or someone you know needs speech or myofunctional therapy, I highly recommend FAME Speech and Myo!!
