I thought I just needed the roof cleaned by a pro roof cleaning team. Turns out, a few suspicious spots had graduated into actual holes.
That was my cue to look into the best metal roofing in Jacksonville. Around the First Coast, a roof has to handle blazing heat, heavy rain, and storm season without throwing in the towel.
Metal roofing quickly started making a lot more sense for durability and long-term protection. So I narrowed down some Jacksonville contractors that stood out for solid workmanship, warranties, and dependable local service.
How much does metal roofing cost in Jacksonville?
A residential metal roof in Jacksonville typically costs $16,000 to $35,000. Most homeowners pay around $22,500.
Installed prices generally run from $6.30 to $20 per square foot. The final price depends on the roof size, metal type, design, and labor involved.
Larger or more complex roofs can easily push the total above the typical range. Premium metal systems and extensive tear-off work can raise costs further.
| Roof Size | Roof Squares | Estimated Cost |
| 1,500 sq. ft. | 15 | $9,450–$21,000 |
| 2,000 sq. ft. | 20 | $12,600–$28,000 |
| 2,500 sq. ft. | 25 | $15,750–$35,000 |
| 3,000 sq. ft. | 30 | $18,900–$42,000 |
1. Prime Roofing

Address: 3500 Beachwood Court, Suite 207
Contact: (904) 530-1446 | [email protected]
Hours: Monday-Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM
Prime Roofing stood out to me because they don’t just show up with a truck full of prefab pieces and hope everything fits. They have a 6,000-square-foot fabrication space where they form metal panels and custom trim for residential roofs.
That’s reassuring when your roof has odd corners, tricky flashing, or other surprises hiding up there. Their crews are employees rather than day laborers, and the company says everyone goes through background checks.
I like that their workmanship warranty starts at 10 years, with longer options available for certain projects.
They’re properly licensed in Florida too, which is one less thing to lose sleep over during a reroof.
The catch is that Prime leans heavily toward residential work, so bigger commercial projects may need another contractor.
They’re also closed on weekends, which can make scheduling tougher for weekday warriors.
Great Value and a Smooth Roof Installation
I am very glad we chose Prime Roofing.
They gave us a quote about $15,000 less than the other quote we received. I also liked that they fabricate their own metal roofing. I was able to talk to the owner of the company, Mark, many times over the phone, and he answered all of my questions.
The installation went well. His team worked very hard in the summer heat (from before 8 a.m. until after 6 p.m. some days) and got it done in the time quoted. They were respectful of the property.

A Beautiful New Metal Roof
Mark and Andrew and their entire crew were great. They cleaned up after themselves and did a fabulous job. My new metal roof is beautiful and they made the whole process go smoothly. I highly recommend Prime Roofing; they are awesome.

2. Jacksonville Roofing USA

Address: 6215-1 Wilson Blvd Building 1
Contact: (904) 516-4279
Hours: Monday-Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM
Jacksonville Roofing USA caught my attention because they seem comfortable with roofs that aren’t exactly straightforward.
Owner Jimmy Garza brings hands-on leadership, while the team has more than 40 years of combined roofing experience.
They handle standing seam metal roofing for both homes and commercial properties, which gives them a wider reach than residential-only crews. I like that they take on repairs too, so a leak doesn’t automatically turn into a full replacement sales pitch.
Their experience with unique properties and more complex roofing needs is another plus.
They’re properly licensed in Florida, and free estimates make that first conversation a little easier on the wallet.
The main drawback is their weekday-only schedule, since the office is closed Saturdays and Sundays. If your workweek is packed, finding time for calls or appointments may take a bit more juggling.
They Found the Source of the Leak
Jimmy with Jacksonville Roofing USA was out of town when I called him, but still returned my call. When he got back in town, he came out and inspected our metal roof and determined it was leaking because the right roofing material was not used originally on the flat breezeway part of our roof. Gabriel replaced that roof and our screws on the entire metal roof. He was here every morning and worked diligently until the job was completed. Very satisfied and would highly recommend them.

Finally Got a Roof That Stays Leak-Free
Honest, convenient, and Johnny on the spot. I’ve had a commercial metal roof repaired once or twice per year. I thought that was normal until Jimmy(owner of Jacksonville Roofing) gave me the truth. No more leaks for years he says. They also install commercial metal buildings which is next on the agenda. Thank you Jimmy. And thank you, Joe for working so vigorously in this Florida heat.

3. A. J. Wells Roofing & Construction

Address: 942 Blanche St Bldg 3
Contact: (904) 553-0069 | [email protected]
Hours: Monday-Saturday, 7 AM – 7 PM
A.J. Wells Roofing & Construction stood out to me for tackling the kind of low-slope roofs that can turn into drainage headaches fast.
With more than 25 years of experience, they handle metal retrofits, standing seam systems, and custom flashing for Jacksonville properties.
What I like is that a full tear-off isn’t always the only option. On suitable roofs, their retrofit approach can reduce demolition while adding positive slope to help improve drainage and cut down on ponding.
They fabricate custom flashing too, which is handy for roofs with awkward transitions and tricky details.
Their metal systems are built with Florida weather in mind, including heavy rain, heat, and coastal exposure.
The downside is that they’re closed on Sundays. Saturday hours help, but homeowners who prefer Sunday appointments are out of luck.
A High-Quality Metal Roof for a Great Price
I decided to have a metal roof installed on my retirement home and was highly impressed right off when A.J. discussed my roofing options, materials they use and how the work is performed. I went with the metal roof as planned only with this one being a commercial-grade roof with no exposed fasteners to ever leak in the future for less than the “other Guys” I received estimates from were willing to install of lesser quality with exposed fasteners. Once they were able to get the work scheduled they gave me a quality installation and what was promised.

A Standing Seam Roof That Looks Great
I had my roof replaced with a standing seam roof from AJ Wells a year ago. I did my research and decided that they were the best company to go with. I had some concerns come up and while they were addressed, I thought that was not enough to leave a positive review. I have done my research and found out what happens when you pick the wrong roofer. My roof looks great, and has withstood major rain storms. I have a 10 year workmanship warranty and 35 finish warranty on the metal from the makers of the metal.

4. Southern Coast Roofing

Address: 2214 University Blvd W
Contact: (904) 356-7663
Hours: Monday-Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM
Southern Coast Roofing caught my eye because their credentials do some of the talking before the sales pitch even starts. They hold GAF Master Elite residential and GoldElite commercial designations, plus three GAF Excellence Awards.
They install metal roofing for both homes and commercial properties, which gives them a pretty broad Jacksonville footprint.
I like that they handle greener options too, including PV-ready and green roofing systems for certain commercial projects.
Their experience with both residential and commercial work makes them a solid pick for owners who want one contractor with range. The GAF certifications add another layer of reassurance when you’re comparing bids.
The downside is that some commercial systems need periodic inspections and maintenance, so upkeep doesn’t end after installation.
They’re closed on weekends too, which limits live office support to weekdays.
5. NEXGEN Roofing

Address: 10527 Craig Industrial Drive
Contact: (904) 802-7150
Hours: Monday-Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM
NEXGEN Roofing stood out to me because storm damage is stressful enough without playing detective on your own roof. They handle both roofing and water mitigation, and use drones, photos, and emergency tarps to document damage after bad weather.
I like that a project manager can meet with the insurance adjuster and walk through the damage in person.
They’re not insurance adjusters themselves, but that extra documentation can make the claims process feel a lot less chaotic.
For metal roofing, they offer standing seam systems and recommend aluminum for properties exposed to heavy coastal salt. Certain systems are rated for serious wind resistance, which matters around Jacksonville.
The catch is their 10-year workmanship warranty has exclusions for unauthorized roof modifications.
They’re closed weekends too, so live office support is limited to weekdays.
