Orthopedic Specialists of Jacksonville (or OSJax) is a newly opened practice founded in 2025. Even if the institution itself is new, the founders are actually a team of surgeons who worked together for years before establishing their own place.
Their scope is pretty broad, covering almost every part of the body. They have specialists for the spine, wrist, foot, and even complex trauma that require expert-level care.
We found them particularly well-suited for patients who want access to the latest technology and the most advanced options in Florida, such as MAKO robot-assisted surgeries and anterior hip replacements.
The typical patient journey starts with a thorough diagnosis, where the doctor will take their time to listen to you. From there, you move into a customized treatment plan, which is either specialized physical therapy or, if necessary, surgery.
Clients we interviewed described their work as life-changing, improving their mobility and reducing their pain. One of them even mentioned getting back to walking after being in a wheelchair for a long time.
Overall, the staff and doctors are all very helpful during visits. However, they can be a bit unresponsive, so phone calls and online scheduling can be very frustrating.

What really stood out to us is the breadth of their care. In addition to orthopedic surgery, they integrate related specialties such as podiatry and chiropractic care to allow patients to receive more coordinated care.
Their process is pretty straightforward. It usually begins with immediate imaging, either MRI or X-ray, followed by a consultation where a personalized plan is developed. This might involve physical therapy programs in their own gym.
Other procedures include high-tech surgery, such as MAKO robot-assisted surgery, and “orthobiologics,” which use the body’s own cells to heal.
Additionally, this clinic is a great option for those with urgent care needs. People with injuries can receive prompt attention from an orthopaedic specialist.
The reviews we’ve gathered are exceptionally high, with many patients praising the impressive surgical skills of the doctors. These skills restored patients’ mobility and allowed them to return to sports or work sooner than expected.
Just note that their scheduling system isn’t that organized yet. They tend to overbook appointments, often leading to patients being rescheduled for the following day.

When it comes to the procedures, the practice is at the forefront of robotic innovation. They offer high-tech options, such as MAKO robot-assistance and Mazor X spine surgery, which are great, especially if you need extreme precision.
Well, it didn’t really surprise us how advanced their technology is, considering that they’re the official orthopaedic specialists for the Jacksonville Jaguars. That alone speaks about their level of expertise.
Even clients highly praise the team’s thorough and compassionate care. They often mentioned how they were able to return to high-impact activities like golf or running after years of chronic pain.
One thing to consider, though, is that their fees are higher than those of other facilities, even with insurance.

Rogozinski Orthopedic Clinic is best for patients with severe spinal conditions. While they handle general orthopaedic issues like fractures and injuries, they actually specialize in spine and joint reconstructions.
In fact, they’re nationally recognized for their research and have been granted 19 patents for spinal medical devices. One of these, the Rogozinski Spinal Rod System, is used to treat deformities and stabilize the spine.
Although these may sound like major surgeries, that’s not always the case. They prioritize minimally invasive procedures, using robotic technology to ensure high-precision results.
Many patients also love that these methods have helped them recover nicely without having to deal with so much pain and discomfort, which can be very common after an operation.
We were just disappointed to hear about the inconsistent service quality. It seems like the customer experience depends on the specialist assigned to them, which means some patients experienced dismissive or rude interactions under certain doctors.

“Had an ice hockey incident and was referred to Rogozinski’s office by the ER doctor. I couldn’t be happier with the service provided at the office, the surgical team, and the follow-up calls. It was all top-notch. Very refreshing in this day and age with hospital offices and staff to find such great service. I would recommend Dr Rogozinski and his team to anyone. I’m from Massachusetts, where we have some of the best doctors there are (and I’ve used them – not an easy sport for injuries). I would take Rogozinski and his team every time given the opportunity to do so. I hope I don’t need them again, but I know where I’ll go if I do! Just hit my 6-month checkup and everything is healed and every single follow-up appointment was as good as the first, from the staff to the doctors. Their orthopedic department supports a variety of needs. This includes complex trauma, advanced sports medicine, and pediatric orthopaedics.
The best part is that the patients won’t have to wait for a separate referral if there are overlapping issues. This is thanks to their specialists who work closely together, so you won’t have to worry about being passed around.
So, if your hip pain, for example, turns out to be a nerve issue, you have direct access to the hospital’s neurologist.
This kind of coordination is part of what they call the Mayo Model of Care. It’s built on speed and teamwork, prioritizing tests, evaluations, and follow-ups to be completed within just a few days.
Despite the quick processing, patients didn’t feel rushed. The team is still thorough in its evaluations and able to make plans that work effectively, after years of failed treatments elsewhere.
But not all aspects of the place are perfect. One thing people found frustrating is the online booking system, where requests are either ignored or verified at the very last minute.

“My experience with the Mayo Clinic Orthopedic Dept has been Excellent. Dr. Edward Haupt and his staff have been wonderful. Ebony in the Orthopedic scheduling dept has always been wonderful to work with. I travel from out of state and Ebony works her magic to make sure that my X-ray appointments and my appointment with Dr. Haupt have to be after the X-ray. Ebony is a delight to work with. She goes above and beyond to schedule what can be 4 different appointments on the same day. She makes it work.”
