I’m a regular at local coworking spaces, but the coffee often tastes like an afterthought. That sent me looking for the best coffee in Jacksonville instead.
I wanted spots where the Wi-Fi works, and the espresso actually earns its keep. A comfortable seat and a good pastry don’t hurt either.
So I narrowed things down by flavor, atmosphere, and the overall experience. These are the Jacksonville coffee spots I’d happily trade my usual desk brew for!
How much does coffee cost in Jacksonville?
Coffee in Jacksonville can cost anywhere from $1.15 to $6.75, depending on the drink and café. A basic drip coffee is usually the cheapest option.
| Drink Type | Average Price Range |
| Hot Drip Coffee | $3.00–$3.05 |
| Americano | $4.00–$4.22 |
| Cappuccino / Latte | $4.75–$5.52 |
| Cold Brew / Specialty Cold Foam | $5.00–$6.75 |
| Budget & Value Options | $0.79–$2.75 |
If you’re keeping things simple, drip coffee and value options are easiest on the wallet. Specialty cold drinks and milk-based espresso drinks tend to cost more.
1. Setlan Coffee Co.

Address: 333 N Laura St
Contact: [email protected]
Hours: Monday–Friday 8 AM–4:30 PM; Saturday–Sunday 10 AM–4:30 PM
Setlan Coffee Co. gives downtown coffee runs a much better backdrop than another beige coworking lounge. It sits in MOCA Jacksonville’s first-floor lobby, and you don’t need museum admission just to grab a drink.
I like that the menu goes beyond basic coffee with chai, specialty drinks, pastries, and light bites.
Their loyalty program sweetens things further with 50% off your next drink after signing up and a free birthday coffee.
The setting is the real draw for me because it makes a quick caffeine stop feel less routine. Between the art-filled surroundings and central Laura Street location, it’s an easy pick when I’m downtown.
The downside is the 4:30 PM closing time every day. That pretty much rules Setlan out for an after-work latte or evening coffee catch-up.

A hidden gem!
A hidden gem! After many trips to the library and Moca and skipping coffee, I finally gave in. Wow, I was missing out. They were pretty busy but quick. The latte was delish. The food was also very good! The menu was larger than I expected. There were a couple of tables to sit at, but I took mine to go. On a Saturday, there was a good amount of noise but quiet enough to sit and chat. I will certainly be back!

Highly recommend checking this place out!
We had such a wonderful experience here! After spending a lovely day exploring MOCA with our family, we dropped in for a quick caffeine fix before hitting the road. I am so glad we did because the coffee was top-tier and hit the spot perfectly. Beyond the great drinks, the customer service was stellar. The staff was incredibly patient, friendly, and attentive to our entire group. The whole atmosphere made it easy to relax and unwind after walking through the museum exhibits. Highly recommend checking this place out!

2. Bold Bean Coffee Roasters – Riverside

Address: 869 Stockton St
Contact: 904-738-7670
Hours: Monday–Friday 6:30 AM – 7 PM; Saturday–Sunday 7 AM – 7 PM
Bold Bean feels like the sort of place that takes coffee seriously without making you study for it first. Their roasting process is impressively detailed, with regular cupping and quality checks behind the scenes.
I went for a pour-over, and the bright, lively flavor made my usual coworking coffee seem a little sad. The Riverside shop has a polished setup, but it still feels relaxed enough for a casual stop.
They run public brewing classes too, which is a fun bonus if you want to nerd out over your morning cup.
Just note that those classes are held at Bold Bean’s separate roasting facility, not this café.
My only real drawback is that the experience leans specialty rather than old-school diner coffee. If you prefer dark, straightforward brews, the flavor profiles here may not be your first choice.

Would definitely return.
This is somehow my first ever stop in at Bold Bean. I went in with matcha or chai in mind, but the first thing I saw was a peanut butter sesame latte on the seasonal list and knew I had to have it. It was a good choice. The drink was beautiful and the taste was exactly as I imagined.
Friendly, patient service. Cool vibe. Would definitely return.

This place has the best coffee I’ve had in the USA.
This place has the best coffee I’ve had in the USA. And I’m a total snob about coffee. I don’t get by their location as much as I would like, but when I do it’s an absolute treat. The spicy chocolate syrup takes a latte to the next level.
The people there are always friendly, and it’s a nice space.

3. Happy Brew

Address: 3200 Hendricks Ave
Contact: 904-575-4940 | [email protected]
Hours: Tuesday–Sunday 6:30 AM–4 PM
Happy Brew is the kind of place that makes a morning coffee run feel a little more meaningful. The nonprofit café creates employment, training, and leadership opportunities for people with intellectual and developmental differences.
I like that it opens at 6:30 AM, which is handy when the workday starts before I’m fully human.
The space feels bright and welcoming, and the coffee menu gives you plenty of reasons to stay past the first sip.
There are even private meeting rooms for small groups, which gives remote workers another reason to keep it on the radar. Just remember those spaces are separate from regular café seating.
The main drawback is the Monday closure. If that’s your usual start-of-week coffee day, you’ll need a backup spot.

Everything was clean and well stocked, and there was plenty of seating
A very cute spot. Our only hiccup was parking, as there was a food pickup line in the church lot on the day of our visit.
Despite parking struggles, we had a great time. I got the seasonal honey chai latte, and it was fabulous. My husband got their signature cold brew. We both enjoyed our drinks greatly and they came out very quickly.
We also got two breakfast sandwiches and they were both good.
Everything was clean and well stocked and there was plenty of seating, we will definitely come back.

LOOOOOOVE this lil coffee shop!!
LOOOOOOVE this lil coffee shop!! Their concept is amazing… hiring people with IDD (intellectual or developmental differences) and the whole entire staff is so sweet.
I got an Iced coconut and white chocolate latte that was perfection. I love how they have 10+ different flavor options. I also ordered the veggie quiche which was like broccoli cheddar soup in a quiche… delicious!!

4. Soul Coffee

Address: 9393 Mill Springs Dr
Contact: (904)-240-5289
Hours: Monday–Friday 7 AM–2 PM; Saturday 8 AM–3 PM
Soul Coffee had me at coworking space, but the Filipino-inspired menu is what made me stay. Their drinks feature flavors like ube, pandan, and black sesame alongside rotating single-origin coffees.
I went for the ube latte after a friend kept raving about it, and thankfully, it wasn’t all hype. The house-made syrups give the drinks personality without making the menu feel gimmicky.
The business started with two working baristas and a homemade coffee cart, which gives the place a refreshingly hands-on feel.
I like that they clearly care more about quality than churning out cups at lightning speed.
The main drawback is the Sunday closure. If your weekend coffee ritual falls on Sunday, you’ll need another Jacksonville favorite on standby.

I’m all for supporting Filipino businesses!
I’m all for supporting Filipino businesses! Ordered the buko pandan specialty coffee and it was really delicious. Don’t let the bright green color dissuade you! Who knew that the nutty, toasty, herbal pandan and the smooth, creamy buko/coconut would pair nicely with a cold brew? Not me until today. I would describe the taste as a nice balance between caramel and vanilla… something earthy but subtle and hits the spot. They also have your staples, including ube and other Asian-inspired flavors.

5. Morning Oil Coffee

Address: 700 E Union St, Unit 151
Contact: (904) 257-3434
Hours: Open daily, 5 AM – 7 PM
Morning Oil Coffee leans into Jacksonville’s working-class side, and it gives the brand more personality than your average café chain. Every pound sold helps fund trade education through the New Boots initiative.
I like that you can choose medium or dark roasts without needing a tasting glossary first.
Subscriptions make it easy to keep coffee stocked, especially if your mornings start before your brain does.
The trades-focused mission is the part that really sets Morning Oil apart for me. Supporting scholarships, tools, mentorship, and apprenticeship pathways makes that bag of beans feel a bit more worthwhile.
The only real drawback is that the branding is heavily geared toward tradespeople. If you prefer a more traditional neighborhood café vibe, it may feel a little less universal.
Customer Reviews
The people working there truly make the place.
This place is such a great addition to the community. My usual order is an iced oat milk latte with a touch of vanilla (I go light..two pumps). Smooth, not too sweet, just right.
For food, the cinnamon roll is my current pick.
The people working there truly make the place. Everyone is so warm and genuine, and you can tell they’re proud of what they’ve built and excited to finally have the doors open. That kind of energy makes a big difference.
Another thing I really love is the give-back to the trades.

From the moment we walked in, the friendly staff made everyone feel welcome.
From the moment we walked in, the friendly staff makes everyone feel welcome. The food was delicious, the quality was top-notch, and the coffee was everything you hope for–bold, rich, and full of flavor. Add in the cool, trendy atmosphere, and it made for the perfect place to connect, share stories, and enjoy great company not to mention they offer meeting areas and a podcasts location as well.
