The 5 Best Water Softeners in Jacksonville for Better Water Quality & Low Upkeep

water-softener-jacksonville
We extensively test and research all services we review. Here's why you can trust us.

System Performance: We assessed water softeners based on efficiency in removing hardness, salt usage, and longevity.

To make sure our findings were accurate, we checked manufacturer specs, lab test results, and real customer feedback.

Reliability and Ease of Use: We checked each system’s consistency and user-friendliness through product manuals and interviews with homeowners.

We gave extra credit to models that had automatic generation, easy-to-read displays, and simple installation.

Capacity and Suitability: We checked if each system could handle different household sizes and levels of water hardness.

We compared flow rates, grain capacity, and whether the systems worked with common plumbing setups in Jacksonville.

Certifications and Safety: We only included units with well-known certifications, like NSF/ANSI 44 for home water softeners.

We checked official registries and company documents to make sure each unit met safety and water quality standards.

Warranty and Support: We looked at customer support, how long the warranty lasted, and how easy it was to get service by checking company info, making test calls, and reading user reviews.

Systems with helpful support teams and strong warranty coverage ranked higher on our list.

After rinsing off from a quick paddleboard session on the St. Johns River, I realized the water at home felt far less friendly. Hard water leaves behind marks, makes soap fight back, and turns everyday tasks into mini battles.

A proper water softener can change that overnight. We’ve gathered the best water softener options in Jacksonville to help homeowners enjoy softer water without the daily hassle.

How much does it cost to get a water softener in Jacksonville?

In Jacksonville, water softener prices vary by system type and features. Basic residential systems start at around $950 to $1,400, mid-range units usually cost $1,500 to $2,400, while premium systems can run from $2,500 to $4,450.

If you’re serious about soft water at home, CGC Home Services is worth checking out.

What caught our eye first was how they don’t just push a standard filter. They actually send someone to test your water at home, checking for hardness, iron, and even PFAS. After that, they match you with a system that fits your house’s specific needs.

Their technicians are not only knowledgeable but also dedicated. A few past clients mentioned that the technician walked them through how the system worked and even worked overtime to finish everything.

Their Kinetico systems are non-electric, which is pretty handy. The dual-tank “Premier” and “Powerline Pro” models only generate when needed and keep soft water flowing around the clock. No electricity, no fuss, just soft water.

We also appreciated that they don’t vanish after installation. They handle maintenance, reverse osmosis, and plumbing (check out this list for more plumber options), which is nice if you hate calling multiple contractors.

They offer a 90-day risk-free trial, which makes it easier to take the plunge. The warranties include up to 5 years on tanks, 3 years on valves, and 1 year on seals and electronic parts.

Just know this isn’t a plug-and-play filter you can toss on the counter; it’s better if you’re ready for a proper home setup.

Pros

  • Provides custom water testing
  • Knowledgeable, dedicated technicians
  • Non-electric Kinetico systems
  • Flexible for any home setup
  • Maintenance, reverse osmosis, and plumbing included
  • 90-day risk-free trial
  • Warranties include up to 5 years on tanks, 3 on valves, and 1 on seals/electronics

Cons

  • Requires full home setup

Outstanding customer service and knowledgeable technicians

“Absolutely excellent experience with this company from the initial call to Sarah in the front office who was very kind and helpful. She went above and beyond to help us. Ronnie, the technician worked overtime to install our new water softener system and educate us on it, he was great and very knowledgeable. Do not hesitate to call this company, their work ethic AND customer service is outstanding. Thank you Sarah, Ronnie and CGC for helping us out of a bad situation, we are customers for life!”

Professional and dedicated service

“We recently had a hot water heater installed; in the installation process technicians made an adjustment to our water softener. It resulted in the water being too soft, too slippery, and actually threatening to us each time we took a shower. A technician came back to correct it but was unsuccessful. Then Service Manager Caleb Ghee made 2 house calls and adjustments. His last correction was spot on and we now have the softener at the correct level. Caleb went the extra mile in resolving our issue. He is not only technically qualified, but he is very professional in the execution of his work and in the respect that he shows the client. If you call CGC and get Caleb to do your work, we are confident you will be pleased.”

Affordable Water in Jacksonville is one of the most highly recommended by locals when we asked around. After hearing so many good things, we wanted to see what the fuss was about, and it didn’t disappoint.

They don’t just hand you a generic system. They actually check your water—well or city—and figure out what works best for your home or business.

A previous customer told us that after their installation, their water tasted clean and almost “premium,” which we think is perfect for anyone picky about taste.

Their technicians are known to be friendly and informative. They don’t just give advice. They even provide a full tutorial on how the system works.

The only downside is that they have a smaller team, so scheduling can sometimes take a bit longer compared to larger companies.

Pros

  • Provides custom water testing
  • Quality service
  • Friendly, informative technicians
  • Works with well or city water

Cons

  • Scheduling may take longer than larger companies

High-quality, affordable water systems

“Affordable Water are true pros. We got a whole-house filter and water softener. The install was beautifully done, and our water feels so good. The technician also gave us a great tutorial about the system. Their work is high quality, and the system was very affordable for what we received. Great value! Strongly recommend!”

Expert, reliable service

“Tried to find a company to service my soft water system and no one would come out except Affordable Water because they all told me they only service their own equipment. Stu came and looked at my system and gave me excellent advice on both repair and replace. Due to the performance and age of my system I elected to replace. Travis came and installed my new system (made in the USA by the way) and did a phenomenal job on the installation and showed me exactly how to use the system. I highly recommend Affordable Water!! They get an A++ for service, quality, and customer service!!!”

3. UDI Water

What we liked about UDI Water is that they actually start with a free water test. It’s refreshing to see a company take the time to figure out what your home really needs, and the fact that it’s free is a nice bonus.

They’ve been around since 1979, serving Northeast Florida and Georgia, so they know local water issues inside and out.

We heard from a previous customer that just two weeks after her installation, her skin felt noticeably smooth and silky after simply washing her hands!

She also shared a few other benefits: she hasn’t spent a single dollar on purified water and has significantly reduced her use of soaps and detergents. Less really is more when your water is this clean!

Their whole-home softeners, filtration systems, and reverse-osmosis setups cover everything from hardness to chlorine taste and odor.

We also liked that support and maintenance aren’t afterthoughts. They check in and make sure the system keeps running smoothly.

Keep in mind that UDI only handles installations for homeowners, so anyone renting a property won’t be able to use their services.

Pros

  • Free water testing
  • Serving Northeast Florida and Georgia since 1979
  • Noticeable water quality improvements
  • Comprehensive systems with whole-home softeners, filtration, and reverse-osmosis
  • Provides regular check-ins

Cons

  • Rentals are not eligible for installation

Professional, efficient installation

“We recently had a water softener and reverse osmosis system installed, and I couldn’t be happier with the results! The installation team was professional, friendly, and efficient. Our water quality has improved so much — it’s softer throughout the house, and the drinking water tastes amazing. The whole experience from start to finish was easy and stress-free. Highly recommend UDI to anyone looking to upgrade their water system.”

High-quality water system, with knowledgeable and friendly service

“Me and my husband both love our UDI water system! The whole experiance has been great starting with the sales rep Rudy, he was very knowledgeable and friendly! At first we weren’t sure what company to go with but after my husband doing quite a bit of research we decided UDI was the best option. Other companies have good reviews but UDI had the most reviews over all and the most 5 stars. If you read some of the reviews on other companies they don’t offer lifetime warranties and alot of the customers say they have issues with their systems. You are paying a little more with UDI but having a lifetime warranty gives you peace of mind that the money your spending is worth it and they have no reviews with customers having issues with their system. Getting the system installed was a pretty quick and pleasant experiance as well and we started noticing the differences right away with hair and skin improvements as well as cleaning becoming easier and laundry being softer! Overall we are very satisfied with UDI and our water softener system!”

Reliable, hassle-free service

“I have has the pleasure of being a customer of Daniel and his team for a number of years.

I am on a deep well and has the old fashioned aerator tank that was a hassle to maintain and worse clean. We heard about integrity and converted over to one of their filter systems and had it for several years and then we upgraded it for recommendation by Daniel and I’ve been pleased ever since it is absolutely hassle free we recommended it to our neighbors and they have had it installed and they are also very pleased and thank us all the time I recommend Daniel his people. His team has follow up to anyone who has special water needs.”

Knowledgeable, friendly, and professional service

“We just had a water treatment installation completed at our home on Amelia Island and couldn’t be more pleased with the result! We were already treating the water for the hardness but in addition we had a sulphury smell that was not tolerable. After doing some research we found Integrity Water and Daniel came to assess the situation very promptly. He was knowledgeable and friendly and we agreed to his suggested plan. He was up front and everything rolled out just the way he said it would resulting in the smell being completely eliminated. David arrived to install the new system and he integrated our existing system making it look much better than it did. Shelby helped from the office and the team work was appreciated! We highly recommend this business.”

EcoWater Systems Jacksonville stands out for their smart approach to water softening.

We appreciate that they don’t just sell a system and leave you to figure it out. They start with a free in-home water analysis so the solution actually fits your water’s hardness, taste, or odor issues.

It’s nice to see a company take the time to get it right from the start.

Their whole-home setups go beyond basic softening. They handle filtration, reverse osmosis, filter changes, and even salt delivery. It’s one less thing to think about when you’re already juggling home maintenance.

The tech impressed us, too. Digital controls, reduced salt use, and Wi-Fi monitoring on some models make keeping tabs on your system effortless.

We also spoke with a few past customers who said the team was punctual, professional, considerate, and tidy. We appreciate that they work that way because it saves you from dealing with clutter or waiting around longer than you should.

The only thing to keep in mind is that if your water isn’t very hard or only tastes slightly off, the full system might be more than you need.

Pros

  • Free in-home water analysis
  • Offers softening, filtration, RO systems, filter changes, and salt delivery
  • Smart tech features like digital controls, lower salt use, and optional Wi-Fi monitoring
  • Punctual, professional, and tidy team

Cons

  • Full system can be unnecessary for mild water issues

Professional, prompt, and thorough

“5+ star rating! Tevin was professional, prompt, and explained everything clearly. He performed a thorough maintenance check on our water softener and it is running perfectly. We have peace of mind knowing our system is in great shape. Highly recommend Tevin at EcoWater in Fernandina Beach!”

Kim Herrmann, Google Review

Knowledgeable, professional, and thorough

“Cannot say enough good things about ecowater. Charles the salesman was prompt, highly knowledgeable, and was in no rush to leave until we were fully satisfied. Tevin the install technician was prompt, professional, very knowledgeable about the products he was installing, and very tidy about any mess that was made as our home and garage was left exactly how it was upon his arrival. The difference in the quality of the water this system delivers versus the one they replaced is unremarkable. Highly recommend if you are looking for water treatment company.”
